  7. Tapioca crackers (krupuk)
  8. Peanut Sauce Dressing
  9. 6 garlic cloves
  10. 1 tbs chili powder or paprika powder
  11. 1-2 tsp tamarind paste or to taste
  12. 100 gr coconut sugar
  13. 2 tsp salt
  14. 2 tbs sugar
  15. to taste Ground white pepper
  16. 150 gr natural peanut butter (no salt/sugar added)
  17. 500 ml coconut milk
  18. 100 ml water

  20. If you don't have peanut butter, use 200 gr ground fried peanut
  21. If you don't have coconut sugar, use granulated sugar

Instructions to make Indonesian Salad with Peanut Sauce Dressing (Gado-gado)

  1. Cut/slice the vegetables as you like. Set aside.
  2. Cut the remaining ingredients (potato, rice cake, egg, tofu, tempe) as you like.
  3. How to make Peanut Sauce Dressing : fry the garlic clove until golden brown.
  4. Put fried garlic, chili powder, peanut butter, coconut milk and water in the blender. Blend all together until smooth.
  5. Pour it into a sauce pan. Cook over medium heat.
  6. Add coconut sugar, salt and sugar.
  7. Stir until it bubbles. Add tamarind paste.
  8. Keep stirring it until it boils hard and looks oily. If it hasn't looked oily, keep stirring it and lower the heat down. Make sure to taste it and add sugar/salt/tamarind if needed.
  9. When the peanut sauce is ready, cool it down.
  10. How to serve : Put veggies and everything else, except the crackers, onto a serving plate. Drizzle the peanut sauce as much as you like 😊. Put the crackers on top. Enjoy. (The best way to eat it is to mix everything all together).
